The Aleph Institute provides many programs for those incarcerated, their families and re-entry programs.

In addition in 2013 the Aleph Institute opened the Shifra Program, which provides resources and support benefiting many families in the Jewish community in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh, PA — July 15, 2026

 

Yesterday was a full day at Miriam's Center, where two dedicated programs and an evening lecture brought together mothers, toddlers, and community members for support, connection, and encouragement.

The morning session welcomed eight mothers and their toddlers for a program built around conversation, emotional support, and structured playtime.
