Pushka
In 1987 I was driving a car back from my mechanic. Prior to taking the car to the mechanic, I removed my Chitas (holy books) and pushka (charity box). I had a car accident. No one was injured. However, both cars were totaled.
I wrote a note to the Rebbe. The Rebbe responded Seforim? Pushka?
The next day, I received a phone call from Rabbi Krinsky, he said he was in the car with the Rebbe, and I had not responded to the questions!
I started to explain why I had removed them, Rabbi Krinsky interrupted and said, it is a yes or no question, I said ‘NO” to both and the Rebbe said to make sure from now on that there should be both always in the car and gave me a blessing.
