Rabbi Mordechai Rosenthal

Rabbi Mordechai Rosenthal was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in the nearby Maryland suburbs.  Several years after graduating high school, he studied Hebrew on a kibbutz ulpan program in Israel.  That experience inspired him to check into his Jewish background, ultimately leading him to study at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, New Jersey where he received a Bachelor of Rabbinical Studies degree.  For post graduate studies, he attended Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in Brooklyn, NY.

After getting married and then living in Brooklyn, New York for several years, he and his wife relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota.  There he became a volunteer chaplain in the federal prison system working under the auspices of Upper Midwest Merkos.  In that capacity he regularly visited Jewish inmates at FCI Sandstone and FPC Duluth and for many years he and his wife spent Rosh HaShana in close proximity to the prisons in order to lead the Yom Tov services for the inmates.

He has been employed as a data processing professional for over twenty years and currently works as a senior programmer/analyst for a national HMO.  He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with his wife and daughter.
